Community Camping Trips – FREE program!
Thanks to funding from the State of California, we are able to offer our residents some fun two-night camping trips where you will be introduced to camping, with a focus on learning about the health benefits of the great outdoors and more.

Thanks to funding from the California State Coastal Conservancy, we are able to offer these fun day trips for free for our residents. We invite Seniors, those with a Disability or Special Need, and those who identify as LGBTQ+.

We are hosting a variety of hikes in and around the Coachella Valley. These free group hikes are open to everyone, please check for age appropriate hikes.

Kick‑start your morning with a family‑friendly 30‑minute walk! All ages—strollers and leashed dogs included—are welcome. Warm‑ups start before the 9:30 a.m. kickoff.

Trips For Kids Coachella Valley Mountain Bike Program
Trips for Kids Coachella Valley is a mountain biking program for youth 10 to 17 years of age that focuses on lessons in personal responsibility, achievement and environmental awareness through the simple act of having fun.

Trips for Kids Coachella Valley is fiscally sponsored by Desert Recreation District, and is an affiliate chapter of Trips for Kids, a national 501c3 nonprofit youth development and education umbrella organization. Trips for Kids’ mission is to give every kid in every community the opportunity to know the joy of riding a bike and the freedom to explore the natural world on two wheels.
