Update: Palm Desert Community Center Serving as Evacuation Site
for Rosa Fire;

Indio, CA – The Desert Recreation District (DRD) has opened the
Palm Desert Community Center, located at 43900 San Pablo Avenue,
Palm Desert, CA 92260, as an official evacuation site for
individuals and families displaced by the Rosa Fire.
While the facility’s basketball courts are closed to the general
public as they are being used to provide shelter for evacuees,
the gym, lobby, and multipurpose rooms remain open for community
use until further notice.
“During times of crisis, our top priority is supporting those who
have been displaced while still providing access to safe spaces
for our broader community,” said Lindsay Woods, Interim General
Manager of Desert Recreation District. “We are grateful to our
staff, partners, and the public for coming together during this
challenging time.”
