Gabriel Martin, whose career has centered on service to residents, strengthening community partnerships, and building inclusive programs and places that bring people together.  Throughout his career, he has worked closely with parks and community services teams, overseeing cross-department initiatives, facilities planning, and partnerships to expand access to safe, high-quality recreation. He brings a proven track record of leading teams and collaborating with city, county, nonprofit, and private partners to enhance quality of life across diverse communities.

“On behalf of the entire Board and our dedicated staff, we’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Gabriel Martin to the District,” said Lindsay Woods, Interim General Manager. “Gabriel brings a community first mindset and proven public service leadership. We’re excited to welcome him to build on DRD’s momentum and continue delivering safe, accessible, and high-quality recreation opportunities across the Coachella Valley.”

Gabriel’s first day at Desert Recreation District will be Monday, September 15, 2025. “Welcome to the DRD family, Gabriel,” said Woods.
