Howl'oween Parade of Pets

Come join us for a howling good time! This fun family event is perfect for Halloween festivities. Dress up your kids and your pets too, and join us for a parade to remember. The parade begins at 9 a.m., with a costume contest immediately following. Plus, there will be lots of activities for the kids, pet information, merchandise booths, pet photo opportunities and pet demonstrations.

Registration closes on Friday, October 15, 2010. Participation is free.

2011 Southern California Yo-Yo Championship

Join us at the River in Rancho Mirage, Saturday, January 29 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Register on-site beginning at 9 a.m. This event is free and for all ages. Come participate and watch some of the top yo-yo professionals in the world.

Participate and win awards, prizes and giveaways throughout the day. Divisions from beginner to expert. Traditional rules by AYYA. The first 150 guests will receive a free yo-yo.

Two levels of competition will be held.
• Championship Freestyle competition for expert level players.
• Age Group Sports Ladder competition for beginners through advanced level players. The contestants will attempt to complete as many tricks as possible on two parallel trick lists. The1S ladder tricks are primarily sleeping or string tricks while the 2S ladder tricks are primarily looping tricks.

Fitness Day Festival

Enjoy free exercise classes all day long! Take as many classes as you want in our Palm Desert and Indio Community Centers. The best part—they are all free! Classes are 45 minutes long and open to everyone; no membership needed! A few of the classes offered free on these select days include gymnastics classes for kids and adults, ballet classes, dance, Zumba, yoga, Tai Chi, boot camp, weight room, racquetball, basketball workshops and much more. Stop by the community centers to get a complete list of classes and schedules for this special day! Don’t forget your water bottle; wear comfy clothes and closed-toe athletic shoes.
